The Bengals cleared defensive tackle Geno Atkins to rejoin practice on Wednesday, completing his comeback from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Atkins hurt his knee during a game Oct. 31 at Miami and had hoped to be ready for the start of training camp last Thursday, but coach Marvin Lewis wanted to be cautious. Atkins was limited to drills on a side field for the first week.

Atkins was a 2012 All-Pro and a two-time Pro Bowl selection. He had 12 1-2 sacks in 2012, the most by an NFL interior lineman, and led the team with six sacks when he was hurt last season.

Cornerback Leon Hall was cleared to start the first day of camp. He has returned from a torn Achilles tendon.
