Person with knowledge of situation tells AP Love pulling out of Team USA amid trade talk

A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that Kevin Love has withdrawn from this summer's USA Basketball roster because of his uncertain NBA status.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because an official announcement has not been made.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are considering trading Love, and a trade could fall apart if Love were to play and be injured.

It's the latest pullout for the Americans, who in recent weeks have lost All-Stars Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge, and NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard. They have 18 players remaining and will choose 12 for the World Cup of Basketball roster.
