Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman strained his right hamstring in the sixth inning of Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Colorado Rockies.

Zimmerman ran hard to first base to beat a double-play throw that scored Anthony Rendon. Zimmerman stumbled at first base and exited with the hamstring injury. He will undergo an MRI on Wednesday morning.

"It's concerning, any time you've got to leave the game with a hamstring injury it's concerning," Nationals manager Matt Williams said. "We don't know until we get a picture of it. We'll do that in the morning."

In 53 games this year, Zimmerman is hitting .282 with five homers and 36 RBI. He missed 44 contests earlier this season with a fracture right thumb.
