Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Eagles have excused Keelan Johnson from training camp in order for the defensive back to deal with his pending legal matters.

The club said in a statement that Johnson, 24, will be excused "for an undetermined amount of time as he tends to matters related to his arrest in Arizona last weekend."

Johnson met with head coach Chip Kelly on Thursday, and is still on the 90-man roster.

He was arrested Saturday in Arizona following an altercation with a police officer. He was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

The Arizona State product appeared in two games for the Eagles last season.
