Rory's lead down to 2 at Open

Hoylake, England ( - Rory McIlroy missed the 13th green and failed to get up and down for par. That dropped his lead to two shots with five holes to go at the Open Championship.

With the bogey, McIlroy dipped to even-par for his round and is at 16-under for the championship.

Sergio Garcia, the 2007 Open Championship runner-up, has parred three in a row after his eagle on the 10th to remain at 14-under. He is 5-under for the day and has a bogey-free round going.

The Spaniard poured in a 14-foot eagle putt on the par-5 10th to briefly get within two of McIlroy, who answered with a 2-putt birdie on the 10th to push his lead back to three.

McIlroy parred 11 and 12 before pulling his tee shot left of the 13th green. He chipped to 18 feet, but missed the putt to trim his lead to two.

Rickie Fowler is four back. He made an 8-foot birdie effort on the second and 2-putted for birdie on the 10th. The U.S. Open runner-up is tied for third place at 12-under with Jim Furyk and Marc Leishman.

Leishman fired a 65 and is the leader in the clubhouse.

Last year's champ Phil Mickelson birdied the last for a 68 and ended at 5- under 283.

Five-time winner Tom Watson fired a 68 on Sunday to end at plus-1, while three-time champion Tiger Woods struggled to a 3-over 75. He ended in 69th place at 6-over 294, which was his worst finish in a major as a professional.
