Eden Prairie, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Vikings will reinstate special teams coordinator Mike Priefer from his suspension on Monday.
Priefer was originally suspended without pay for three games after making homophobic comments to former Vikings punter Chris Kluwe. He was given the possibility of a reduction to two games if he underwent sensitivity training.
The Vikings said in a statement that Priefer did in fact undergo "individualized anti-harassment, diversity and sexual orientation training" and that he was "fully and thoughtfully engaged throughout the process and successfully completed the program."
Kluwe claimed in a January article published by Deadspin that Priefer made an anti-gay comment in a team setting. Priefer denied the allegations at first, but then admitted that they were true. Minnesota completed an investigation and Priefer was subsequently suspended for three games in July.
