New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - American League saves leader Fernando Rodney of the Seattle Mariners has been named to the AL All-Star team.

AL manager John Farrell announced Saturday that Rodney would take the place of Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price on the active roster for Tuesday's game.

Price is schedule to start Sunday against Toronto. He was bumped from his regular spot in the rotation Saturday because of an illness, the Rays said.

Rodney had an AL-best 27 saves entering play Saturday. He and Price were teammates on the Rays from 2012-13. They were both All-Stars in 2012.
