Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks have waived guard/forward John Salmons.

The Hawks acquired Salmons from Toronto in a June 30 trade that sent guard Lou Williams and the draft rights to center Lucas Nogueira to the Raptors. Atlanta also picked up a 2015 second-round pick in the deal.

Salmons averaged 5.2 points in 78 games last season with Sacramento and Toronto. The Raptors acquired him from the Kings last December as part of a seven-player trade.

The 34-year-old veteran has career averages of 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 874 games with Toronto, Sacramento, Milwaukee, Chicago and Philadelphia.
