Eastbourne, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Former world No. 1 star Caroline Wozniacki fought her way into the semifinals, while former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova pulled out of her quarterfinal match at the Aegon International tennis tournament, final grass-court Wimbledon tune-up.
The eighth-seeded Danish star Wozniacki came from behind to beat rising Italian Camila Giorgi 6-7 (7-9), 6-4, 6-2 at Devonshire Park, while the second-seeded 2011 Eastbourne runner-up Kvitova was scheduled to meet British wild card Heather Watson, but instead pulled out of the draw because of right hamstring injury.
Also on Day 4, fifth-seeded German Angelique Kerber drubbed 2010 Eastbourne runner-up Ekaterina Makarova, of Russia, 6-2, 6-1, and Madison Keys whipped fellow American Lauren Davis 6-2, 6-1.
Friday's semis will pit Kerber against Wozniacki and Keys versus the wild card Watson.
This week's winner will collect $120,000.
