(SportsNetwork.com) - The agent for Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans says the rookie was involved in a fight with bouncers at a Miami-area nightclub in March, before he was drafted, and not this past weekend as an online report indicated.

Agent Deryk Gilmore told the Tampa Bay Times on Friday that his client was not drinking at South Beach's Dream Nightclub before the altercation occurred.

He said Evans, who was 20 in March, was allowed in as a guest and did not have a VIP wristband to access parts of the club, so was asked to leave. He was attempting to go back inside to get his girlfriend.

Earlier Friday, TMZ.com posted a video of what it said was a brawl outside of the nightclub. The man identified as Evans is seen throwing at least one punch.

No arrests were made following the altercation, according to Gilmore.

The Bucs, who are scheduled to play in Buffalo on Saturday, haven't commented on the reports.

Evans, who turned 21 on Thursday, was drafted No. 7 overall by the Buccaneers in May. He had 151 catches for 2,499 yards and 17 touchdowns in 26 games for Texas A&M.
