TCU rallies past Pepperdine for CWS berth

Fort Worth, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyle Bacak laid down a successful squeeze bunt to cap a two-run rally in the ninth inning Monday as TCU rallied to beat Pepperdine 6-5 to earn its second berth in the College World Series.

Dylan Fitzgerald doubled home the other run for the Horned Frogs, who won the best-of-three Super Regional series 2-1 to make it to Omaha for the first time since 2010.

Kevin Cron belted a solo homer and Keaton Jones had three hits for TCU.

Pepperdine, which evened the series with a 3-2 win on Sunday, had taken a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning on Brad Anderson's sacrifice fly.

Brandon Caruso hit a two-run homer and Aaron Brown added a solo blast in the loss.
