Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Owings' two-run homer in the eighth inning proved to be the game-winner as the Arizona Diamondbacks took a 12-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies to complete a three-game sweep.

Owings finished the game 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored, while Miguel Montero hit a solo home run and also had three hits for the Diamondbacks, who notched their first sweep of the season.

"When we've been getting them on base lately we've been getting them in," said Montero. "We've playing together a lot better lately and it showed in this entire series."

Each Arizona starter had at least one hit and either a run scored or an RBI, including pitcher Bronson Arroyo (5-4), who gave up four runs on six hits in 6 1/3 innings and added a hit and a run scored at the plate.

Troy Tulowitzki went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored for the Rockies, who have dropped their past seven games. Juan Nicasio (5-4) allowed seven runs on 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

"We had some bad luck, hitting balls right at guys," said Tulowitzki. "We've just been in one of those skids where it seems like the other guys are catching all the breaks."

Paul Goldschmidt and Martin Prado each drove in a run with a single and sacrifice fly, respectively, to give Arizona a quick 2-0 lead, but Charlie Blackmon got one back for Colorado in the home half of the first inning with his 11th homer of the year.

Montero's solo home run in the third made it a 3-1 game and Owings doubled in another run in the fourth.

Goldschmidt homered, his 11th of the season, to start the fifth, but DJ LeMahieu's RBI single in the home half cut Arizona's lead to 5-2.

The Diamondbacks kept plating runs in the sixth, as Gerardo Parra drove in one with a double and Owings added a sacrifice fly for a 7-2 lead.

Colorado chipped away at its deficit over the next two innings, as Tulowitzki hit a solo homer to start the sixth and run-scoring singles from Drew Stubbs, Michael Cuddyer and Corey Dickerson in the seventh made it a 7-6 game.

Owings' two-run homer in the eighth gave the Diamondbacks a 9-6 lead, but Brandon Barnes legged out an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the eighth to cut the deficit to two.

Arizona then plated three more in the ninth, as Aaron Hill, Ender Inciarte and Cody Ross each drove in runs with singles for a 12-7 advantage.
