Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane want to stay in Chicago, and Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman says he wants to sign the stars to contract extensions this summer.

Bowman made it clear Tuesday that new deals for the high-scoring forwards are his biggest priority for this offseason. Toews and Kane each have one more year left on their contract.

Bowman says there's "no doubting the importance of those two players."

Toews and Kane led the Blackhawks out of a dark period to Stanley Cup titles in 2010 and 2013, and they would be aiming for a championship repeat had they not come up just short against Los Angeles in the Western Conference finals.
