Gainesville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Thornton went the distance, Carl Wise added two hits with an RBI, and the College of Charleston won the Gainesville Regional with a 4-2 decision over Long Beach State on Monday.

Morgan Phillips drove in the other run for the Cougars, who will next face Texas Tech. Thornton fanned four and walked one, giving up two runs on four hits.

Richard Prigatano and Johnny Bekakis drove in a run each for the 49ers, who had beaten North Carolina earlier on Monday in the continuation of Sunday's suspended game to stay alive.

Nick Sabo gave up four runs -- three earned -- on two hits with two walks and as many strikeouts over his three-plus-inning start.

Charleston moved ahead to stay in the sixth. Ryan Welke walked and Ben Boykin was plunked and after Sabo uncorked a wild pitch to put both in scoring position, Nick Rosetta got the nod.

Phillips then lofted a fly fielded in foul territory deep enough to plate Welke to give the visitors a 3-2 edge, and Boykin came in on a Rosetta wild pitch.
