Expressing "extreme" disappointment in Daryl Washington, Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians says he won't talk again this season about the standout inside linebacker, who has been suspended a year for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Arians says Washington was unaccountable to the team, the Cardinals organization, the fans, "and everybody else."

The coach made the comments after the team resumed volunteer organized team activity on Monday.

Washington says he has been punished for marijuana use. He also was suspended the first four games of last season for violating the NFL substance abuse policy.

Quarterback Carson Palmer says an improved offense should help offset the impact of losing Washington and fellow inside linebacker Karlos Dansby, who left via free agency.
