Former South Florida center John Egbunu has transferred to Florida.
The Gators announced Egbunu's summer enrollment Thursday, saying the 6-foot-10 center will begin attending classes June 30. He will have to sit out the 2014-15 season, after which he will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Egbunu is the second transfer to join coach Billy Donovan's team in recent months, joining former Michigan forward Jon Horford. Florida has four other transfers on its roster: former Virginia Tech forward Dorian Finny-Smith, former Rutgers guard Eli Carter, former South Carolina center Damontre Harris and Donovan's son, former Catholic University guard Billy Donovan.
Egbunu averaged 7.4 points and 6.2 rebounds as a freshman, earning a spot on the American Athletic Conference's all-rookie team.
