Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago White Sox have placed pitcher Matt Lindstrom on the 15-day disabled list with a sublexing peroneal tendon in his left ankle.

The 34-year-old suffered the injury in the ninth inning of Monday's victory over the Royals while attempting to field a bunt and will return to Chicago to undergo further examination.

The right-hander is 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA and six saves in 19 appearances this season.

To fill his roster spot, the White Sox purchased the contract of pitcher Javy Guerra from Triple-A Charlotte. The 28-year-old is 1-1 with a 2.33 ERA and three saves in 14 relief appearances with Charlotte in 2014.

Guerra was claimed by Chicago off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 26. In three seasons with the Dodgers, Guerra was 4-5 with a 2.90 ERA and 29 saves.
