Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - For the fifth time this postseason, the Kings found themselves on the brink of elimination.

And just like the last five times, Los Angeles lived to see another day.

Jake Muzzin and Trevor Lewis each lit the lamp, Jonathan Quick stopped 21 shots, and the Los Angeles Kings snapped Anaheim's three-game win streak with a 2-1 win Wednesday at Staples Center to force a Game 7 in their Western Conference semifinal series.

Muzzin opened the scoring with his third of the playoffs 8:16 into the game, while Lewis netted the eventual game-winner with 5:56 left in the second.

Kyle Palmieri found the back of the net just 1:38 later to get the Ducks within one, but Quick turned aside all 10 shots he faced in the third to set the stage for Friday's winner-take-all contest.

"We're a good team. Any team that's still playing this time of year has got a good team and knows how to win," Quick said. "It'll be a good game (Game 7) and we've got to get our rest and be ready."

Anaheim rookie Kyle Gibson, who had stopped 67-of-70 shots since making his postseason debut between the pipes in Game 4, allowed both goals on 23 shots in the setback.

"You want to win it when you can, and we didn't get it done," Anaheim head coach Bruce Boudreau said. "We'll get better and we'll get ready, and we'll play a hell of a game Friday."

The Kings killed off an early interference penalty against Matt Greene before Muzzin made it 1-0 at the 8:16 mark.

Following a strong forecheck from the home team, Drew Doughty kept the disc in the Anaheim zone at the right point before dishing to Marian Gaborik along the half wall.

Gaborik's centering feed was disrupted by a defenseman's stick, but the puck landed on the tape of Anze Kopitar, who slid a backhand feed to the front of the net, where Muzzin one-timed it home past Gibson's blocker for a 1-0 lead.

After keeping the Ducks off the board during a pair of power plays early in the second, the Kings doubled their cushion on Lewis' fourth of the postseason at 14:04.

The LA center carried the disc through the neutral zone and into the Anaheim zone before rifling a shot from atop the left circle that slipped through Gibson's five-hole and trickled across the goal line for a 2-0 lead.

Anaheim answered under two minutes later when Palmieri received a pass near the right point and charged through the circle before wheeling around the net and stuffing in a wraparound to bring the Ducks within 2-1 at 15:42.

The Ducks outshot the Kings 10-7 in the third thanks to a pair of power plays, but were unable to get anything past Quick.

Gibson left the net in favor of the extra attacker with just under 90 seconds left, and despite a late flurry in front of the Kings' net, the Ducks failed to find the equalizer.
