WASHINGTON – After four players transferred from Maryland's basketball team, athletic director Kevin Anderson says he fully supports coach Mark Turgeon.
Turgeon said Tuesday there's no trend or pattern to the transfers. He says "winning at a high level" would help prevent players from heading elsewhere.
Turgeon calls guard Seth Allen's departure "a big surprise." But Turgeon says the recent losses are something he'll need to address while recruiting.
Turgeon says: "Whenever you lose four players, you're going to have to justify it in some way."
Since the end of last season, when Maryland went 17-15, forward Nick Faust, center Shaq Cleare, and guards Roddy Peters and Allen all left the team.
Maryland moves from the ACC to the Big Ten next season.
