Beefing up the back seven on defense, which was a disaster in 2013, should also be a high priority.

CALLING THE SHOTS: General manager Bruce Allen now has final say over personnel after the firing of Mike Shanahan but that's not exactly a comforting thought because he does not have a scoring background. There are only 32 head coaching jobs in the NFL so it's tough to say anyone should turn down a chance but new coach Jay Gruden faces an uphill battle in this organization.
