Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Facing elimination on Saturday afternoon, the Detroit Red Wings will have a veteran presence back in the lineup.

Forward Daniel Alfredsson will return for a pivotal Game 5 against the Boston Bruins after a two-game absence because his ailing back required rest.

The 41-year-old Swede had been silent in the first two contests of this series, held without a shot on goal or a single point. In his absence, the Wings dropped two in a row on home ice and head to Boston down three games to one.

Todd Bertuzzi will drop out for Detroit. The 39-year-old was held scoreless and without a shot on net in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss in Game 4 at Joe Louis Arena, his lone appearance in the series.
