BUFFALO, N.Y. – Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly is planning to spend this weekend celebrating Easter at home in suburban Buffalo, before returning to New York City to resume treatments for sinus cancer.
Dan Kelly tells The Associated Press on Wednesday that barring any setbacks, his brother intends to travel home Friday before returning on Sunday. Kelly says his brother is doing "pretty good," and has felt particularly better the past two days since beginning chemotherapy on April 8.
The former Bills star has spent the past three weeks being treated at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
He is scheduled for two more chemotherapy sessions, and is having radiation treatment five days a week. The treatments are targeting cancer cells in Kelly's maxillary sinus and adjacent tissues.
