SKC, RSL finish scoreless at Sporting Park

Kansas City, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas City played to a scoreless draw on Saturday at Sporting Park.

Meeting for the first time as Western Conference rivals, both teams came into the match looking for a third straight victory, but scoring chances were few and far between in a physical affair.

The best chance of the game for either side came just moments into second half when Krisztian Nemeth found himself unmarked in the box and directed a cross on goal, but it smacked the right post before Jacob Peterson directed his rebound effort wide.

Sporting Kansas City dominated much of the game, firing 13 attempts and one on target, while holding Real Salt Lake without a shot on target, but both sides were wasteful on the night and forced to settle for a point apiece.
