On the field, Jackson is coming off his best season with career highs of 82 receptions and 1,332 yards. His nine touchdown receptions matched a personal best.
"We are all excited to have him join our team. Our team and this city will be there for him," Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III said about Jackson.
For his career, the California product has caught 356 passes for 6,117 yards and 32 touchdowns in 87 games.
