Uncasville, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - The Connecticut Sun signed All-Star guard Katie Douglas to a two-year contract with a third-year option on Monday.

Douglas spent five seasons with Connecticut before playing the past six years with the Indiana Fever.

"I am definitely excited to be rejoining the Connecticut Sun," said Douglas in a statement Monday. "I had a great five years there playing in front of some of the best fans in the WNBA. I look forward to reconnecting with the community and to helping Connecticut become a championship contender."

The 13-year veteran missed most of the 2013 season with back trouble and played just four games. She helped Indiana reach the WNBA Finals in 2012, but had to watch as the Fever won the title because she injured her ankle in the conference finals.

Douglas reached the WNBA Finals twice in her first stint with Connecticut, but the Sun lost to Seattle in 2004 and fell to Sacramento in 2005.

"Katie's championship experience, her extreme competitiveness and her superior skill set will be a tremendous boost to our team," said Sun coach Anne Donovan. "We are all really excited to welcome her back to Connecticut."

Douglas spent her first two WNBA seasons in Orlando before the franchise was purchased by the Mohegan Tribe and relocated to Connecticut. She owns career averages of 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

The 34-year-old Purdue product ranks fifth all-time in league history with 663 made 3-pointers and is ninth all-time in scoring with 5,142 points.
