Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Texans on Thursday announced the signing of free agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Per club policy, no terms of the deal were disclosed.

Fitzpatrick had been cut loose by the Tennessee Titans last Friday after just one season. He appeared in 11 games (nine starts), throwing for 2,454 yards and 14 touchdowns while completing a career-high 62 percent of his passes.

Since breaking into the NFL during the 2005 campaign, the Harvard product has thrown for 16,790 yards and 106 touchdowns against 93 interceptions on 1,555 completions for the Rams, Bengals, Bills and Titans.

Fitzpatrick's addition could mean the end of former starter Matt Schaub's tenure in Houston. The Texans own the No. 1 overall pick in May's NFL Draft and are expected to take a quarterback on one of the first two days.
