Miguel Cabrera hit a long solo home run and a sacrifice fly as a Detroit Tigers' split squad lost to the New York Mets 5-4 on Tuesday.
The drive by the two-time AL MVP came in the third inning against Daisuke Matsuzaka.
New York's Eric Campbell was 2 for 4 with a double, a home run and two runs. Detroit's Tyler Collins hit a two-run homer.
Matsuzaka allowed four runs and seven hits in five innings and struck out five. Tigers starter Kyle Lobstein gave up one hit — Campbell's home run — in 2 2-3 innings.
