Incarnate Word to play Baylor in 2019

San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The University of the Incarnate Word football program has scheduled an FBS opponent for the first time, setting a game at Baylor University in 2019.

Incarnate Word announced the Aug. 31, 2019 game at McLane Stadium in Waco on Monday.

"I am honored and thrilled that Baylor has agreed to play us in 2019," UIW coach Larry Kennan said. "It shows how far our program has come and the direction we are headed."

Incarnate Word moved from NCAA Division II to the FCS level last year and had a 6-5 record against an independent schedule. The Cardinals will play a full Southland Conference schedule for the first time this year.
