Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tennessee Titans announced on Friday the signing of offensive lineman Michael Oher to a multi-year contract and the release of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Reports indicate that Oher was signed to a $20 million deal for the next four years.

"Michael is a big, strong, durable player," said Titans general manager Ruston Webster. "Like we have said with a number of players we added this week, he has versatility with experience playing both left and right tackle during his NFL career. We are excited to have Michael as part of the Titans family."

Oher had spent his entire five-year career with the Baltimore Ravens, starting all 80 games in which he participated with the franchise. During the Super Bowl season of 2012, Oher helped the Ravens rack up a franchise-high 398 points along with 5,640 total yards from scrimmage.

Fitzpatrick was made expendable earlier in the week when the club signed Charlie Whitehurst on Thursday as a backup to Jake Locker.

The Harvard product completed 217-of-350 passes for 2,454 yards, 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over 11 games during his lone season in Tennessee last year. He was also sacked 21 times.
