Detroit Lions running back Joique Bell says he crossed paths with wide receiver Golden Tate at team headquarters.

Bell signed a $9.3 million, three-year contract to stay with the Lions on Wednesday.

He hopes the Lions can sign Tate, a free agent, to add a "valuable piece," to their offense. Tate traveled to Detroit on Tuesday night to meet with the Lions on Wednesday.

Tate was the Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks' top receiver last season. He appears to be Detroit's top target in free agency because it is looking for someone to complement All-Pro receiver Calvin Johnson.
