The women’s basketball coach at Boston University is accused of being a bully whose actions have led to players leaving the team and their $60,000 annual scholarships, MyFoxBoston reports.

The university has opened an internal investigation into the allegations, the Boston Globe reports, after one player says the bullying was so bad she considered suicide, and another admitted to seeking mental health care.

Two other players said the mistreatment ruined their love for the game, according to the paper.

The four players, who each had a $60,000-a-year athletic scholarship, left the team this year, prompting a review by BU.

"We have been made aware of issues and concerns about Coach Greenberg, and we're taking a very serious look at them from both inside and outside of athletics,'' BU spokesman Colin Riley said.

Greenberg, who is entering her 10th season as head coach of the Boston University women’s basketball program, was reported for similar behavior about seven years ago by most of her players, the Globe said.
