POCATELLO, Idaho – Chris Hansen had 21 points and Jeffrey Solarin added 14 points with 18 rebounds to help Idaho State defeat Sacramento State 80-67 on Saturday night.
Dylan Garrity scored a 3-pointer to pull Sacramento State within 50-49 with 12:36 remaining. Idaho State answered with a 7-1 run, including six points by Tomas Sanchez, to take a 57-50 lead with 10:06 to play. Garrity hit his eighth trey to pull the Hornets within 70-66 with 3:29 left before the Bengals closed on a 10-1 run to seal it.
Sanchez finished with 18 points. Andre Hatchett added 11 points with five assists for Idaho State (11-16, 8-10 Big Sky), which snapped a three-game losing skid.
Garrity made eight 3s and finished with 26 points, both career highs, to lead Sacramento State (13-14, 9-9). Mikh McKinney scored 13 and dished out seven assists.
