Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain and long-time rivals Marseille will clash on Sunday at the Parc des Princes in the latest installment of Le Classique.
PSG has been in fine form all season, having tasted defeat in league play just once - a 2-0 defeat against Evian. Since that setback, however, the club has embarked on an impressive 10-match unbeaten streak.
Last time out, Les Parsiens cruised to a comfortable 4-2 victory over Toulouse away from home with leading scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic netting a hat trick.
The Sweden international opened the scoring in the 32nd minute after he buried a penalty kick, but Toulouse found an equalizing goal through Ben Yedder in the 44th minute as the clubs went into the locker room even. But PSG grabbed control of the match in the second half as Ezequiel Lavezzi scored to give his side the lead in the 55th minute and Ibrahimovic made it 3-1 with his second goal of the match with 22 minutes to play.
Yedder brought Toulouse to within one in the 72nd minute, but Ibrahimovic completed his hat trick in the penultimate minute of normal time to send PSG away with all three points.
"We took our chances, because we didn't create an enormous number of chances," said PSG manager Laurent Blanc. "We scored four goals, two penalties and one from set pieces which I think is one of our strengths. Scoring goals is the most difficult thing in football. We have scored eight in two matches this week, so the coach is pretty happy with the attack."
As PSG and Monaco battle for the title at the top of the table, Marseille has quietly been having a fine season as the club finds itself in fifth place in Ligue 1 with 43 points.
Last time out, Marseille extended its unbeaten streak in league play to five straight matches with a 1-0 win over Lorient courtesy of a late strike from Andre-Pierre Gignac. A win for Marseille could move the club as high as third in the table.
Elsewhere in France on Sunday, last-place Ajaccio hosts Lille at the Stade Francois Coty while Lyon hosts Montpellier.
On Saturday, St Etienne welcomes Monaco to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Lorient battles Bastia, Nice faces Toulouse, Sochaux tangles with Bordeaux, Reims hosts Valenciennes and in the day's final fixture, Rennes faces Guingamp.
Friday's action saw Cedric Barbosa and Daniel Wass grab the goals in Evian's 2-0 home defeat of Nantes.
