Connor Hill scored 28 points, on 8-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc, as Idaho defeated non-league opponent Cal State Northridge 96-88 on Tuesday night.

The 96 points were a season-high for Idaho, eclipsing its previous mark of 89. It was also Idaho's highest scoring game since a 101-47 win over UC Irvine on Nov. 28, 2008.

Stephen Madison added 21 points with eight rebounds for Idaho (11-16). Hill was one 3-pointer away from tying Mike Hall's school record of nine set on Jan. 28, 2008.

The Vandals led by 19 midway through the second half.

Cal State Northridge (13-15) was paced by Stephen Maxwell and Stephan Hicks with 21 points apiece. Maxwell and Hicks combined to make 19 of 30 shots as the Matadors made 50 percent of their attempts.

Due to a jazz festival, the game was played in Memorial Gym.
