BERLIN – Mexican winger Andres Guardado has been loaned from Valencia to Bayer Leverkusen for the rest of the season, and the German team has an option to buy.
Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voeller said Thursday the 27-year-old "is a very experienced player. He was a regular in Valencia and played in the Champions League with the club last season. He's a leading player with his national team."
Guardado, who plays on the left of midfield, has made 99 appearances for Mexico. He joined Valencia in 2012 from Deportivo La Coruna, where he arrived in 2007 from Atlas Guadalajara.
