Stuttgart, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Bayern Munich extended its lead at the top of the Bundesliga to 13 points with a 2-1 comeback victory at Stuttgart thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Thiago Alcantara.
Vedad Ibisevic tallied the opening goal after 29 minutes to put Stuttgart in front, but Bayern came to life in the final 15 minutes, and after Claudio Pizarro scored the equalizer, Alcantara netted the winner shortly before the final whistle.
Bayern has now won 16 of its first 18 games in the league and sees its unbeaten run in league play reach 43 matches.
The hosts started well when a deflected shot from Timo Werner fell kindly to Ibisevic, who made the most of the opportunity by firing a shot past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Stuttgart nearly went up 2-0 in the second half, but Bayern's Jerome Boateng cleared a shot off the goal line to keep his side within a goal.
Pizarro netted the equalizer in the 76th with a header, and Alcantara saved the day with an acrobatic volley that was surely worthy of winning any match.
