Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury and was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
After Bowman pulled the ball loose from Jermaine Kearse near the goal line, the Seattle wide receiver fell on Bowman's extended left leg, bending it sideways.
Bowman came to rest with the ball but the Seahawks kept possession and the linebacker was quickly carted off.
After the 49ers lost the game 23-17, coach Jim Harbaugh said preliminary tests showed Bowman likely had an ACL injury.
Bowman, 25, had 145 tackles and five sacks in 16 games this past season. The Pro Bowl linebacker has been durable, playing 16 games in all of his four NFL seasons and registering at least 143 tackles in each of the last three.
