Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The New Jersey Devils activated foward Patrik Elias from injured reserve prior to Thursday's game against the Colorado Avalanche.

Elias has been out of the lineup since Dec. 31, when the veteran was forced out of a game against Pittsburgh with a groin strain caused by a hit from the Penguins' Tanner Glass. He returned to practice Wednesday and is slated to play against the Avalanche.

The 37-year-old Czech is tied for second among New Jersey players with 25 points (7G, 18A) despite missing 15 of the team's 48 games due to various injuries.

New Jersey also activated forward Jacob Josefson, who had been sidelined by illness since early January, from IR. Forward Mike Sislo was assigned to the Devils' AHL affiliate in Albany to make room on the active roster.
