(SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Lions have reportedly hired Jim Caldwell as their next head coach.

ESPN.com and NFL.com are reporting that Detroit made Caldwell its focus after Ken Whisenhunt took the Tennessee Titans vacancy on Monday.

Caldwell will replace Jim Schwartz, who was fired at the end of the season following a 7-9 campaign.

Caldwell has been the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. He took over that position late in the 2012 season after serving as the quarterback coach and helped the Ravens win last year's Super Bowl.

He was also head coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 2009-2011, posting a 26-22 mark and leading the Colts to Super Bowl XLIV, where they lost to the New Orleans Saints.
