Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Mika Zibanejad scored the winner in the shootout as the Ottawa Senators took a 2-1 win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday.

Zibanejad was the first shooter for Ottawa and his wrister went into the right corner of the net. After Craig Anderson made a glove save on a David Legwand backhand, Jason Spezza sealed the win as his wrister trickled between the pads of Marek Mazanec.

Kyle Turris scored in regulation while Anderson stopped 32 shots for the Senators, who have won five of their last six.

"We know we're in a lump of a group of teams, but with the games-in-hand and the not-games-in-hand I think it's too early to be looking at where you sit," said Spezza about the team's playoff chances.

Mike Fisher lit the lamp for the Predators, who have lost five of their last six. Mazanec finished the game with 20 stops.

"We haven't been doing too good in shootouts so we have to start finding a way to win the game in regulation," said Fisher. "I thought we played really strong as a team in the third period, just couldn't get any through."

The only goals in this game came in the second period, and the first went to Ottawa at 6:23.

Nashville's Mattias Ekholm sent a pass along the right boards from behind the net, but it took a bad bounce off the boards and came out to the right side for Turris, who snuck it past Mazanec as the goalie was looking the other way.

Nashville, though, tied the game at 16:59 as Ryan Ellis' shot from the slot was blocked by a body in front, but the disc slipped out to the left side and Fisher swept it in for his 12th of the year.

Anderson was busy in the third period and overtime, stopping 17 shots to force a shootout. Mazanec needed to make just five stops in the third and none in the extra session.

The best chance of the first period went to Nashville, as Viktor Stalberg was awarded a penalty shot after he was tripped up by Joe Corvo, but Anderson made a glove save on Stalberg's wrist shot.
