DK Eldridge scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds as New Mexico State beat Seattle 96-87 Thursday night.

Kevin Aronis hit back-to-back 3-pointers to score the final six points in a 21-6 run by New Mexico State (13-5, 2-0 Western Athletic Conference), opening up a 42-21 lead with 4:14 left in the first half. The Aggies took a 48-28 advantage into the break and held a 20-point lead with 6:41 to play.

Seattle (8-7, 0-2) trimmed its deficit to single digits on an Isiah Umipig 3-pointer with 52 seconds left but New Mexico State made 13 of 15 free throws in the final 2:23 to hold off the Redhawks.

Daniel Mullings had 13 points, 11 boards, seven steals and six assists in the win. Renaldo Dixon added 18 points and Aronis 15.

Deshaun Sunderhaus had 22 points and 12 rebounds, Umipig 24 points and D'Vonne Pickett 20 for Seattle.
