Northern Iowa's football team will play six home games and two matchups against FBS opponents as part of a 12-game schedule announced on Wednesday.

UNI will open the season by visiting Iowa on Aug. 30 and make a first-ever trip to Hawaii for a Sept. 13 matchup.

The Panthers also will host Morgan State (Sept. 6) and Northern Colorado (Sept. 20, Homecoming) as part of the non-conference portion of their schedule.

Within the Missouri Valley Football Conference, coach Mark Farley's squad will host South Dakota State (Oct. 18), Illinois State (Nov. 1), three-time defending FCS national champion North Dakota State (Nov. 8) and Missouri State (Nov. 22).

The Panthers' conference road games are against Indiana State (Oct. 4), South Dakota (Oct. 11), Western Illinois (Oct. 25) and Southern Illinois (Nov. 15).

UNI finished with a 7-5 record this past season, including 3-5 within the Missouri Valley Conference. The Panthers won their final three games.
