(SportsNetwork.com) - Boston Bruins mammoth captain Zdeno Chara was one of several NHL players named to Slovakia's men's hockey team on Tuesday.
Chara, a defenseman, highlights a 25-man roster, which includes fellow NHL players Marian Hossa and Jaroslav Halak.
The Slovaks played well in the Vancouver Olympics and qualified for the semifinals before bowing out to Finland in the bronze medal game. Halak has missed a few games recently for the St. Louis Blues due to illness and is expected to be in net.
Peter Budaj of the Montreal Canadiens is one of three goaltenders for Slovakia. Jan Laco of the KHL's Donbass Donetsk rounds out the netminders.
Other current NHL players who will represent Slovakia include defensemen Martin Marincin of Edmonton, Andrej Meszaros of Philadelphia, Carolina's Andrej Sekera, Lubomir Visnovsky of the New York Islanders, forwards Marian Gaborik of Columbus, Michal Handzus of Chicago, Detroit's Tomas Jurco, Florida's Tomas Kopecky, Richard Panik of Tampa Bay and Detroit's Tomas Tatar.
