London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has sustained a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury, manager Arsene Wenger revealed.
Ramsey suffered his initial injury in a 3-1 win at West Ham on Dec. 26, and was expected to be in contention for a spot in Arsenal's team for Tuesday's 2-2 draw against Southampton after returning to training.
However, the Wales international was left out of the side with Wenger confirming after the match that Ramsey will miss an extended period of time after aggravating the same injury.
"Unfortunately he had a setback in training," Wenger told the league's website. "Hopefully he's not out too long but he won't be available for Sunday's game [against Crystal Palace]."
The 23-year-old was in fine form prior to suffering the injury as he scored 13 goals in all competitions for the Gunners.
