Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Colorado forward P.A. Parenteau is expected to be out of the lineup for a while thanks to a right knee sprain.
"It's an MCL and obviously, he won't be back for at least 4-to-6 weeks," said Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy. "He was in pain. He's a real team guy and he wanted to give it a try, but right after he got the puck on the power play, he couldn't go back.
Parenteau suffered the injury early in the extra session of an eventual 3-2 overtime victory at home against the Winnipeg Jets.
It's a nightmare scenario for the Quebec native, who was forced to miss four weeks while recovering from a left knee injury suffered against Winnipeg in late December.
Parenteau, 30, has picked up 14 goals and 19 assists in 53 games in his second season for the Avs.
