West Long Branch, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Monmouth University running back Julian Hayes has been dismissed from the football team for violation of university and team policy, the athletics department announced Thursday.

The junior led the Hawks in rushing in 2013 with 1,111 yards and seven rushing touchdowns on 243 carries. He also caught 11 passes out of the backfield for 59 yards.

"Monmouth football has standards of behavior that we expect to be followed," Monmouth coach Kevin Callahan said. "When members of the program fail to live up to those standards or choose to ignore them, it becomes clear that we must go in different directions."

No additional information was provided regarding the circumstances of Hayes' dismissal.
