El Segundo, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is expected to miss the next six weeks after being diagnosed with a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in his left knee.

The injury comes just six games into Bryant's return from a torn Achilles he suffered on April 12 against Golden State.

"You hate it for Kobe," Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni said. "He's worked so hard to get back."

The 15-time All-Star posted averages of 13.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game over his six games this season.

The Lakers are currently 12-13 and will host Minnesota on Friday night.
