Nyon, Switzerland (SportsNetwork.com) - Arsenal and Manchester City have both paid the price for finishing in second place in their respective Champions League groups with the Gunners set to face Bayern Munich in the round of 16 while City will square off with Barcelona.
Bayern topped Borussia Dortmund in the final of last season's Champions League, and the German side will once again meet Arsenal in the knockout round after Monday's draw, with Bayern having eliminated the Gunners at the same stage last season.
Arsenal's 2-0 defeat to Napoli on the final day of the group stage dropped the team into second place, allowing Dortmund to top the group and giving the German side a much easier matchup with Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.
City finished second to Bayern in Group D and will now face a Barcelona outfit that won the 2009 and 2011 Champions League titles.
Chelsea will be facing a familiar face in its knockout round opponent, Galatasaray, as the Turkish side features former Chelsea star Didier Drogba, while the other Premiership team in the tournament, Manchester United, will be pleased to draw Greek side Olympiakos.
Atletico Madrid topped Group G after going unbeaten in six games and the Spanish club faces AC Milan, while French heavyweights PSG meet up with Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid takes on Schalke.
