New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Arizona and Syracuse remained the top two teams in the latest Associated Press men's college basketball poll.
Arizona completed a perfect non-conference schedule last week with a rout of Northern Arizona. The Wildcats received 60 first-place votes, three fewer than last week, and a total of 1,620 points from a national media panel to keep the top spot for a fourth consecutive week.
Syracuse also stayed unbeaten on Saturday, rallying from an early 18-point hole against former Big East rival Villanova to earn a 78-62 win. The Orange picked up the remaining five first-place votes, three more than last week.
Fellow unbeatens Ohio State and Wisconsin remained third and fourth, respectively, while Michigan State held firmly at No. 5.
Oklahoma State, Duke, Wichita State, Baylor and Oregon complete this week's top 10. Wichita State, off to its best-ever start at 13-0, moved up two spots from 10th.
Villanova was unbeaten and ranked eighth before its visit to the Carrier Dome and dropped three places to 11th. The remainder of the second 10 consists of Florida, Iowa State, Louisville, Kentucky, Kansas, Connecticut, Memphis, North Carolina and Colorado.
Kentucky moved up three places from 18th after a 73-66 win over Louisville on Saturday. The Cardinals dropped eight places from sixth after the setback in Lexington.
San Diego State, Iowa, Massachusetts, Gonzaga and Missouri are the last five teams ranked.
For a second straight week there are no newcomers.
There are a handful of ranked matchups this week, all taking place on Sunday. A Big Ten tussle features Iowa and Wisconsin in Madison, while Oregon visits Colorado in the Pac-12 and an interconference battle pits San Diego State and Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse.
