Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul will return to the lineup on Wednesday, apparently recovered from a groin injury.

"It's been challenging. I've never had something like this before," said the oft-injured Toronto forward, who has had to deal with a blood infection and a concussion among other issues which have sidetracked his 10-year career. "I think things went really well. We're happy with the strength I have back in there. Now, it's a matter of taking care of things on a day-to-day basis and making sure there's no setbacks."

Lupul has missed the last seven games with the ailment, deemed a groin strain, which struck him in the last week of November in a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He had been expected to miss around two weeks.

Prior to this latest malady, Lupul was tied for third among Toronto players with eight goals and amassed 15 points in 22 contests in 2013-14.
